She sits down too and she waits a moment before she speaks and just watches the kitten play for a moment. As much as she wants to put this off she can't. But how does she one start a conversation like this? How do you lead into 'so I have the destructive potential of a nuclear bomb?']
Something happened at the end of middle school that made my power grow suddenly. Minamoto's theory is that's one of the reasons why my metabolism sped up so much. Because my body is changing so it can handle that power.

I've only been sick once before. I couldn't really afford to because psychic powers and fevers don't really mix well. [She taps the side of her head as if to say, yes. Powers that are controlled by the brain + fever that affects the brain = DISASTER.]
And our powers growing this much...my body can't handle using my powers at full force for more than twenty minutes.
[She wanted to be annoyed, but she was just...really fond. She reached out to hug him.]
Rin. I can't stay here. If I get a fever I'll lose control of my powers. If I reach my limit, my body will collapse on itself and I'll take out a 15km radius with me. I can't risk that.
[That... makes sense. He can't say he's thrilled at the idea of Kaoru just going off on her own while she was so sick, but he'd also rather not have half the town blown out of existence.
There's a sigh and a careful hug, Ayame giving a squeak as she's between the two of them.]
Can I at least make somethin' for you before you run off?
