A guild's a group of people who live outside the Empire according to their own laws, and specialise in a certain trade. There's Fortune's Market, the merchant guild, the Soul Smiths, the blacksmithing guild-- you get the idea. They're all overseen by the Guild Union, and together the guilds are strong enough to rival the Empire in its own right. That means they can live freely and pretty much ply any trade they want.

Brave Vesperia does a bunch of odd jobs right now. Finding things, deliveries, monster hunting, fixing up warehouses, bodyguard and escort requests... I guess we're a jack of all trades guild.
It did a lot of good for our leader, too. He's grown a lot, and now he has somewhere he belongs. But you didn't hear that from me, okay?

... okay, maybe a little. But don't make a big deal about it! I just don't like the idea of people bein' alone in a new place without anyone to help them out!
