I'm not the person who would be getting married in this instance, so it wouldn't be wholly correct for me to answer such a question in earnest, but then, I've never been a being who wholly respects that sort of correctness.

But you're already thinking about it, hm? You probably have before now, so I'll say this:

If you, Rin Okumura, desire to marry Kohaku Hearts, to be her husband and have her as your wife, and she's in agreement with you, then suffer no man, beast, or god's disapproval.

You've only got so many days until summer. If Kohaku-chan is amenable, make her a proper spring bride.

It's a two person affair, so the two of you would plan it together. It's entirely possible Kohaku-chan might not want to be a spring bride.

It's a popular concept back home is why I tend to reference it. Spring is the season of birth, rebirth, and new beginnings. You know how popular flowering trees are during this time of year. Many Japanese women favor Spring for such engagements, but you must also recall that we hail from a culture that has traditionally encouraged us to pick the fifth on our list of marriage considerations and Kohaku-chan is from a world different from ours, isn't she?

[ Ah, but this is probably too round-about for Rin. ]

People are different. We are different and this situation is different. What works for the two of you, that's what's important.

It isn't like we couldn't have a ceremony if we wanted one. The ceremony itself isn't actually necessary to the process. Even if we had had a ceremony, it's not like it would've been big. There's the three of you and a small number of people I could invite and I'm Lightning-kun has a few friends, and then who? Our fuck buddies?

That's one of the traditional points of a wedding ceremony, Rin-chan. In any case, they haven't been particularly happy occasions for me.

They're breathtakingly beautiful, you know? The day Lewin-kun and I met was the first time he summoned sylphs for me and he was so casual about it. Even then, we weren't big about formalities between us.

I think, if there's anyone I really wouldn't have minded being present, it's those demons and I would've liked it to be like that. No big, winding speech or rented venue or airplane spelling things in the sky. Just me and Lewin and the sylphs at home or somewhere comfortable for us. After he turned my face up to him and placed the ring in my hand, he'd just casually go, "Hey, Set-chan. Will you marry me?"

Something like that would've been fine.

I probably would've thought he was kidding, but like I said, it's moot.
