Well. A while now, considering he hasn't been home in almost two years.]

I saw him gettin' arrested by Order security on TV, Shura found me later and told me he shot Mephisto, or at least they thought he did, somethin' somethin'... possessed by Satan but maybe not? Last thing I remember was breakin' him out from prison, plannin' on goin' on the run with him until we could figure out what the fuck was goin' on and he uh...

[Shit.

There's that awful feeling again. The thought that he failed Yukio, failed everyone...

He swallowed hard and looked away, rubbing his neck roughly.]

He was gonna go with Lucifer instead.

With Lucifer?

[ She starts there because she's stuck so many pins in various places throughout his statement that she isn't entirely sure which one to pull first. Why was Mephisto on television? Who would have motive to attempt to murder someone of his rank and position and why then? His allegedly human brother, Yukio, possessed by Satan? And the prison break, the... that plan, it's a lot of questions that will birth more questions, more pieces she probably won't be able to get from Rin to put this whole thing together, but the big one is that name, another... another big name that she recognizes, just. ]

If I knew, I wouldn't be so fuckin' upset still.

[There was no point in hiding it, the emotions already bubbling to the surface before her absolutely apt response to what he'd told her.]

I don't always understand him or what he does, but this was just... it doesn't make a damn bit of sense to me. But I also haven't seen him in over two years now.

[ She's quiet for a moment. There's so very much she's missing, more questions boiling, bubbling up to the surface, and Rin... has questions, too. He's missing pieces and if he's missing pieces, then is Yukio missing pieces? This is the first time he's mentioned Lucifer, too, and she can't really begin to guess how that demon fits into all this unless there's some correlation between Lucifer and Satan?

But even then, that's just a guess, nothing detailed, solid, and Rin's emotions are more immediately pressing. Two years, he said. Two years without resolution on that single matter on top of the others he's been troubled over. It's no wonder his heart is a mess.

Still, she thinks it best to ask. Has to if she's to come into a better understanding. ]

Lucifer isn't involved with the True Cross in any sort of positive way, I take it?

[ Just that question for now, she thinks, because the entirety of this situation is... it's enough for her to step forward, find his shoulder with a hand. Steady. ]
